Sarah Elizabeth Priscilla Pope Ellen was the widow of James Pierce Ellen of Halifax Co., NC. James Pierce Ellen (1857-1925)was the son of Cordal N.F. Ellen and wife, Martha Richard Manning, of Nash Co., NC. Both James P. Ellen and Bettie Pope Ellen are buried at Elmwood Cemetery in Halifax County. Bettie Pope Ellen died November 18, 1953.
